What three steps can you take to build trust and credibility online for you, your brand and your business?

I love today’s Challenge question, only because I’m a people person and the more interaction the better! I mean don’t you love it when you get on Twitter and find someone retweeted your post or mentioned you in a tweet? Or when a notification box pops up on Facebook or Google Plus, because the online community is thinking about YOU and appreciates the contribution you are making.

Think about it, what inspires you to share a post, click like, or write a comment?

What are the kinds of material that move you to take action? Take your concepts and ideas and translate them into achievable goals? What motivates you to fight for what you leave and continue to dream big and not give in to being a cog in the machine of the same, always the same cycle of life repeating over and over.
Online Presence

The key message I convey with my blog, site and freelance work is that it’s time to be heard! You have great thoughts which need to be heard, you are important and exceptional. There is no one is the world with your unique personality and gifts. So why not spread the word and develop your tribe, your online community of fans, cheerleaders, teammates, mentors and peers.

Here are three steps you can take to increase your online presence and become a credible force online:

  • Friendship is a two way street- so is building an online community! Treat it the way you would treat a new friendship, reach out, interact let others feel valued. I’m also preaching to the choir on this one. Upping my social media interaction is definitely on my list and even though it takes time but I often see immediate results.
  • Try something new – do you every feel stuck? Unsure of which direction to go in? Well we all know the definition of insanity, doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. To get out of your runt don’t be afraid to try something new. One of my huge hang ups with Google Plus was that I just did not understand it. I finally had a friend who is a whiz at it give me a tutorial and now I’m up and running and loving it!
  • Add value – this could be something a simple as sharing your success story, providing insight on a topic you’re a pro or or discussing a lesson learned. After all we tend to come to content with the mentality of “What’s in it for me?”

As a bonus linking to other sites, articles or blog posts you’ve found useful is fantastic. Recently I’ve received several pingbacks from awesome writers who found value in my work and linked to it on their sites. I don’t even know them but it makes me proud to know I can make that difference and you can to. All it takes is one action step and mine began when I decided to join the 30 Day Blog Challenge. It’s Day 17 and I can’t imagine not blogging everyday!

What steps will you take to increase your online presence?
