Here’s the deal, you don’t have to be a major extrovert to sell more books, and you don’t have to sit on social media for 24 hours a day. You don’t need more likes on your Facebook page or followers on Twitters and Instagram. The #1 thing that has made a massive difference in the visibility of my books isn’t social media, it’s email marketing. After the release of The Five Warriors, I paid a book promotion site to feature my free ebook which resulted in over 1500 downloads in one day. After that, when the ebook wasn’t free anymore, the sales continued. Why? Well, that’s simply the power of email.
MailerLite is the tool I use for email marketing. The interface is easy to navigate, it integrates well with my website, and it’s free for the first 1,000 subscribers. However, what made me switch over to MailerLite is the ability to send out automated emails, for free.
Recently I read Guerilla Publishing by Derek Murphy who is a YA fantasy author. He has some unusual perspectives when it comes to book marketing which I can appreciate. Since I don’t have time to do “all the things” I just need to focus on what works. His approach is exactly what I need. He recommended using Instafreebie to build your email list. I tried it out and started seeing results immediately without doing any promotion.

Sometimes, book marketing it’s the problem, it’s actually starting, or finishing your book. This is something I struggle with since I’m not a fast writer. Book Editors and Proofreaders
Bad reviews are something you probably can’t get away from, after all, no one likes everything they read. If your book has a lovely exterior, you’ll want to ensure the interior is just as beautiful. I use beta readers to help me get my story under control and flesh out the character development. From there, I use a proofreader to weed through my grammatical errors.
