The travel bug hit me when I was 15 years old.
Standing outside of the airport in Birmingham, Alabama, I realized I was setting off on an adventure, leaving my friends, my family and everything familiar for a 2-week mission trip to Panama City, Panama (the country, not the beach). I was going alone to meet up with 900 strangers and I honestly could not wait.
Verdict: I had the time of my life!
Today’s prompt for the 30 Day Blog Challenge is:
If you chose to live anywhere in the world, where would that be and why?
This is a difficult question to answer because there are many countries to explore, unique hidden away towns, historical monuments, and centuries and centuries of history tucked away across the world. I don’t think I could choose one place to live.
When I was young and returned from Panama (after staying up for 24 hours and making 4 flight connections), I decided (after I woke up from sleeping for 20 hours) that I was going to travel every country.
Goal: Travel the world and visit each country at least once
Reality: Panama, Costa Rica, Mexico and Ireland isn’t bad right?
Future: New Zealand 2014
New Zealand is on my radar for 2014 and I’m thrilled to partake in an exciting adventure with one of my best friends.
Adventure has always called my name.
I’m not sure if it was because all of action/adventure, and fantasy/sci-fi movies and books I was surrounded with growing up. Or my dream to create my own epic adventures series. Whatever it is I need to stay true to the travel bug and travel more!
