Creating a company culture where people feel that they belong is not only key, it’s a requirement for success!
Knowing that the company you build, work for or manage has a mission which resonates with you and your beliefs is mandatory for creating freedom in business and adventure in life. Besides, if you’re doing what you love every single day, you want to be surrounded by others who are passionate about the same things that get you excited about. If you work with others to combine ideas and make it happen how much better will your company culture be?
How will you build a team around your vision and work smart instead of hard?
Virtual teams are trending right now. The idea of working hard on a project until it is complete whether in the office or remotely instead of punching a time clock allows greater productivity. I don’t know about you but I’m the type of person who enjoys sharing my ideas and hates being micro-managed. One of the books that taught me to manage my time more effectively was Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity. Don’t tell anyone but I never actually finished the book. Some of the concepts were outdated but the overall message was fantastic. Below is my interpretation:
- If an item can be done now with minimal amount of time – do it now!
- If an item can be done which involve more time – delegate it!
- If an item involves more planning and additional interaction – schedule it!
My idea team of people consists of a passionate group of people who are excellent with time-management, work independently, have brilliant ideas to contribute and love interacting with people.
Thinks of the ways you like to work and habits of those you admire. What attributes will your dream team have?
