A couple of years ago, I spent some time working as a contract recruiter, interviewing entry level candidates. Out of all the interview questions, there were three key ones whose answers determined whether the candidate moved forward in the interview process. One of those was: What is your ideal work environment?
The answer was used to identify whether the candidate would be a good fit within the company culture. You see, company culture and work environment are key to ensuring employees feel their contributions are recognized and appreciated. After all, if you continually go to a place where you feel devalued and don’t fit in, you will eventually leave, right? But what if that doesn’t have to be the case?
