A couple of months ago my career transition as I went from a moderately busy marketing and production coordinator to an incredibly busy account manager. How can you not jump at an exciting opportunity and huge responsibility? I threw myself into my work and learned that, long hours, project management and short breaks for yet another cup of coffee might not be the best way to handle stress. Which is why I was thrilled to discover headspace only this afternoon. (Get some).
Headspace is an app for those of us who are stressed and need to find the time to practice mindfulness and meditation. I must admit, those first 10 minutes of meditation were…well…stressful. I can’t handle sitting still and doing nothing, even 2 minutes seems like forever! However 10 minutes later I felt relaxed, rejuvenated and ready for another round.
While my career is in health and wellness sometimes I forget its more than just eating right and staying fit, there is the wellness component which touches mind, body and soul.
