Flying during sunset is like flying into a rainbow. The colors catch, the sky shifts switching from it’s normal deep blue. The pinks and purples are blood oranges are so intertwined you can barely see the change in hues. Darkening into shadow the lights of the city down below flicker on one by one like stars that live on the ground.
The passengers sleep. The airplane winks. Constantly moving forward. 500 no closer to 600 mph defying the speed of travel. Down below in cozy homes the night owls begin to awake. If they glance above and dare to look up they’ll see the blues fade to black. Along the way one twinkling light will take it’s passengers home.
